Butts on the Creek Revisited

On another trip to the mountains we returned to Butts on the Creek, two years since our last visit. I'd been past a couple times and wanted to give it another try. I'm glad to say it was even better than I remembered. The building is exactly the same- kind of dark inside and a little dusty. We sat again on the screened back porch which is very nice on a cool evening, listening to the creek run by. But the food was definitely the best part. We had a large group so we tried about everything, and it seemed the wooden tables creaked under the weight. I highly recommend the ribs- they were perfect. All three of the sauces were delicious and they have a very good assortment of side dishes to go with any meal. Our favorites were the squash casserole and fried corn. Excellent!
