Bennett's revisited

We were recently in the Smokies with a large family group and made another visit to Bennett's. This time, we ate at the restaurant in downtown Gatlinburg instead of the one in Pigeon Forge. As I said in the previous review, the Gatlinburg branch is a little nicer- a bit smaller, and a little less touristy.

This time I tried the Smokehouse Combo-for 15.99 you get chopped pork, a quarter chicken and pork spareribs. All were excellent with good smoked flavor. Along with the salad bar and sides, this was almost too much to eat- it would have been if it wasn't so good. Service was a little slow, but as good as can be expected for a group of 20 on a busy night! This is definitely a favorite. I am upgrading my rating to:

Bar-B-Q Bills- Chiefland, FL

Despite the grand exterior, this is just an average run of the mill spot. (Isn't that usually the case- the fancier looking places are almost never as good as the hole in the walls?) Anyway, it's got your standard wood tables, average salad bar, normal menu etc. I ordered the sliced pork and covered it in the spicy sauce. Along with beans, fries and cole slaw it made a decent meal, but nothing to write home about.

I'm still here

My apologies to all who have visited in the past months and been disapointed to find no new posts. I've had alot going on and- well I've just been too lazy to update the blog. Again, I am sorry and I plan to keep it up regularly.
